Stitching Futures

Stitching Futures grew from conversations with women who wanted to contribute to their households but lacked skills, tools, or confidence. Sewing became our starting point — practical, dignified, and immediately useful.

We set up training sessions where experienced tailors volunteered to teach basic stitching, garment repair, and small product making. Women who had never handled a machine left with skills they could use the same week.

Peer groups formed naturally. Participants shared orders, encouraged one another, and began thinking about micro-enterprise. Some started taking tailoring work from neighbours; others joined self-help-style solidarity groups.

Stitching Futures is more than a skill workshop — it is a pathway to economic independence, restored confidence, and the quiet pride of earning with one's own hands.
