Livelihood Skills That Restore Dignity

08 Mar 2026 4 min read Praja Sarathi Team

Poverty is not only the absence of money — it is the absence of choices. Skills, seed support, and dignity go together.

Poverty is not only the absence of money — it is the absence of choices. Our livelihood initiatives train women and young adults in skills they can use locally: tailoring, food processing, digital basics, and farm-allied trades.

We connect trainees to self-help groups and modest seed support so they can test a business without crushing debt. Success is measured in steady income, not headlines — a seamstress paying school fees, a youth group selling organic produce at the mandi.

Dignity returns when people can earn on their own terms. That is why livelihood sits at the centre of Praja Sarathi's rural development work alongside education and health.
